TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
The core belief behind Yousef's lessons is that they absolutely must be student-centered and adaptive. Every student has a completely different background and learning style. It's important to Yousef to teach drums in a way that feels natural to the student by taking into account their interests. Yousef is especially perceptive when it comes to tackling personalized problems with different students. Yousef has worked with students from ages 4 to 67 with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and students whose first language is not English.
MUSIC ANYHOW, ANYWHERE
With a student-centered and adaptive approach, it's also incredibly important to consider modality. Yousef is well equipped to teach drummers in a variety of locations, at a variety of times that best work around your busy schedule. Lessons can take place in Yousef's studio or your home, but they can always adapt to other locations, like a park or community center! Yousef has experience with Google Meet/Duo/Hangouts, Skype, Zoom, and more!
HELPING YOU GROW
As any beginner will tell you, starting out can be a challenge, and Yousef wants to make this start as comfortable as possible. It's important to use an interactive and entertaining approach in order to encourage students to seek out drums as a means to cultivate wonder, excitement, and pleasure from learning about music as a whole. Music is a universal language, and as such, it has no age or ability requirements! Yousef wants to accommodate all of your musical needs to empower you to enjoy music in any way that you desire.
