Drumming Expert
Yousef was a relatively late bloomer as a musician, but upon picking up the drums in High School, it became apparent that it would become more than a hobby-- but a calling. As Yousef continued playing out in university and beyond, their aggressive, but tasteful approach to drums became well-known in the DC rock scene. Yousef is recognized for unique approaches to odd-time and displaced grooves, as well as genre-bending and challenging musical norms.
Scaffolded by a Civil Engineering degree and as an educator in the public school system, Yousef now lives in the heart of Tacoma WA, pursuing the dream of teaching drums and continuing to be involved in multiple facets of the music scene on a daily basis.

A Special Sound
Yousef has managed all kinds of equipment and sound dynamics in past projects, as well as running live sound for numerous venues and musicians of various styles. Yousef has done work with electrical routing/power management in the past and has skillfully applied that knowledge in the music. world Any kind of music equipment is fair game; acoustic and electric instruments, vocals, amps/speakers, accessories, recording gear...even lighting and ergonomic equipment arrangement in different contexts.

Let's Have a Good Time
Going hand in hand with the equipment management and live sound, Yousef has plenty of experience with booking, promotion, and event planning/management. Yousef loves to connect with folks in the music scene through their social channels. This has allowed them to put together fun, accessible, community-focused events on a number of occasions. Not only has Yousef organized physical efforts, but also been a powerhouse in creating media for past projects (logos, art, demos, flyers, collabs).

Music Aficionado
It must be mentioned that above all, music runs through the blood in Yousef's veins. Through years of learning (and learning specifically from teaching!) Yousef has developed a strong understanding of music theory and drumming styles for just about every musical genre. Yousef has a repertoire of around 100 songs, and has streamlined the song learning process to the point that most songs can be mastered in just a few days. Yousef offers drum transcriptions as well as gigging services; feel free to contact them for a detailed list of songs that can be played or transcribed.
